In fact, it was quite boring. I went to the Essendon Bombers versus Geelong Cats game at the Telstra dome (for those of you who know / care) and was audience to a complete thrashing. My boss roped me into barracking for his team - Geelong - who subsequently got totally creamed by the previous season's ... um ... "champions"? ... the Cats.
It was interesting enough, but there's only so much you can watch one team totally kick the arse of the other. We left at three quarter time, back to my co-worker's unit (Good Ol' Country Boy aka the guy who got married recently and is younger than me). I stuck around there a while shooting the shit before going for dinner at Simone's place with her and her family.
So no, I'm not a convert. But it certainly wasn't the nightmarish scenario I was worried it'd be. We'll call that breaking even, I guess.
